Alumni News
January 27, 2009: Hot off the press! The OIPS@UAH is now on Facebook! Link up with us and our alumni there. We await your news....
The OIPS has been instrumental in bringing to the university many students from Eastern Europe, Central, South, and SouthEast Asia, the Near East, and Central America. These students have added immeasurably to the quality of the educational experience of all UAH students. Also contributing to the local citizenry's understanding of other parts of the world, many Russian, Ukrainian, and Uzbek business people and educators have participated in short-term, internship programs organized by the OIPS and its community partners in north Alabama.
The OIPS maintains contact with these international students and our other guests, many of whom wish to share with the university and the local community their experiences upon returning home. From securing new jobs to serving in the military to starting a family, our international friends have kept us up-to-date on their activities.
The Alumni News is divided into two sections: OIPS Alumni Success Stories and Personal News Updates about many of our alumni.
We would like to hear from you! Please send us your alumni updates at oip@uah.edu and let us know if we may share them on our website.
Websites for ECA and U.S. Department of State Alumni
The U.S. Department of State and the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) have developed the websites below to allow State-sponsored visitors to network, find job and grant opportunities, and record their experiences in the U.S. in their own words. We encourage our alumni who participated in the Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program, the Study of the U.S. Institute, the Community
Connections Program, the Partners-in-Education Program to visit the websites and share your thoughts and
experiences with regard to your program in Huntsville. Our sponsored student alumni from the Global UGRAD, NESA UGRAD, MUSKIE, and PLUS programs are also encouraged to check these out!
