E-PALSWhat is the E-PALS Program?The E-PALS Program is first contact project designed to introduce future international students to life at UAH even before they arrive by giving them a network of friendship via email communication to be continued once they arrive in order to make the difficult transition of integration as pleasant as possible - in other words, making them feel as though they were coming home when they arrive to UAH! How are participants paired up? Partners are matched primarily by age, sex, and interests. If you have a particular country or language preference for your partner we will try to accommodate that, but we cannot guarantee your preference. Why join this program? This program provides international students with local support and a contact person in Huntsville when they arrive and if they encounter difficulties or have questions. It also provides them with an opportunity to learn more about Americans and American culture. Furthermore, it is a great chance to improve English skills! American participants, in turn, learn about their international friend’s culture and many other cultures by participating in events with other E-PALS partners. In a global world where cross-cultural interactions are increasingly important, this program provides an intercultural experience that is invaluable for all involved. How do I apply?
