Outreach Programs

The OIPS designs, conducts, and administers a number of public service programs. In conjunction with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), World Learning, the U.S. Department of State (Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, ECA), the International Research & Exchanges Board (IREX), the Library of Congress-based Open World Leadership Center, the Alabama Commission on Higher Education (ACHE), the American Councils for International Education (ACIE), and the Academy for Educational Development (AED), the OIPS provides an opportunity for the local community to interact with students, business people, and educators from Eastern Europe and Central Asia as well as for local educators to travel and study in other countries. OIPS has expanded its network of programs in recent years, to include exchange programs with delegations from Southeast Asia, East Asia, North Africa, and the Western Hemisphere.
