Institute Student Projects
For your Institute projects, you and your fellow students will be divided into groups. Each group will develop a set of questions that the members intend to explore during the Institute. As they do the readings and attend the seminars, workshops, and activities, as well as engage in research at the library, each group’s members will find answers to their questions, as well as new questions. You will be encouraged to engage in interviews with individuals in relevant political and cultural settings, including the media. At the end of the Institute and before your peers and others related to the program, each group will present a project demonstrating the value of the Institute in suggesting answers to the questions that were explored.
Dr. Philip Kovacs, Assistant Professor in the UAH Department of Education, will serve as the Institute's student research director. In this capacity, he will work closely with you and your fellow students as you design, research, and present your capstone Institute projects.
